Description
These military medals all belonged to David Rome, who served in the United States Army during the first World War and served in the European Theatre of Operation France with Kilo Company of the 101st infantry. Mr. Rome was awarded the Purple heart and numerous other citations for his service in the United States Military.
Mr. Rome was a member of American Legion Post #58 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
This 1917 list, where you can find David’s name seven rows from the top, shows that he and his company were transported out of Massachusetts to Europe in September of 1917. According to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, David was enlisted in the U.S. Army from July 25, 1917, to April 28, 1919.
